Preschool Friendly Games To Try For Your Next Family Game Night!

Hi Friends! Today I’m sharing my favorite games to check out if you’re like me and love hosting family game nights! Preschoolers are at such an awesome age where they want to be involved in family events and can understand directions a little bit better. Between the ages of 3-5 is a great time to introduce family games on a special night of the week especially during the winter. Make an event out of it! Serve cocoa, play music and gather around the kitchen table as a family to have some fun. Below are my game recommendations for kiddos that I’ve played myself and had a BLAST!

I love this take on the classic matching game because it involves your child getting up and moving! Great for those days you are stuck indoors due to weather condition. To play you sprinkle the included picture cards out on the floor and ask your child to go find the correct picture! Really simple concept that can help build vocabulary and memory! Sneaky Snacky Squirrel

This game is so fun! The object of the game is to collect as many colored acorns as you can. It is very easy to get into and teaches little ones color recognition and turn taking skills. I also like the fine motor skills practice this game incorporates because to collect your acorns you use a pair of tongs shaped like the sneaky squirrel!

If you have a toddler who loves sharks this game is for them! It’s so easy, and the suspense of the game have preschoolers at the edge of their seat! The object is to take turns with your child to collect the most fish hooks inside the sharks mouth, the one who the shark chooses to “bite” is out!

This was my favorite game as a kid and I remember playing this with my sister all the time! Such a classic board game that’ll never get old. I love how it also teaches kids about “good deeds” and acts of service towards others that’ll help you advance in the game. Truly a game that helps

introduce and promotes making good choices.

Another matching game that we really enjoy playing is this Chuckle and Roar baby animal matching game that comes with a TON of baby animal cards to play memory with. I started Isaiah off with four cards and increased it from there! It helps promote animal recognition and names for adult animals and their baby animals.

Winter is in full swing and I’ll be posting weekly play inspiration for you to help keep your kiddos busy during the week! If you love creative play inspiration then you’ll love having blogs sent right to your email for your convenience. I’m a fan of low prep activities fueled by fun!
