Babies love songs and rhymes and I’m sharing a few of my favorites that I like to do with my five month old! The repetition of songs help promote memory and language- some of the songs I sung to my oldest and he still remembers them and now sings them on his own. My favorite way to sing and interact is face to face or giving what I like to call it “FaceTime”. Your baby can see your eyes and mouth much better- both very important when little ones are developing language.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star- My favorite song to sing at bedtime!
The Wheels On The Bus- Great for introducing environmental sounds.
Head Shoulders Knees And Toes- Teaches common body parts!
Slippery Fish- Introduces ocean animals
ABC’s- A well known favorite! Introduces the alphabet and letters
Below are a few of our favorite rhymes I like to say to the both of the boys. For toddlers you can most definitely involve props that they’ll love to help the rhyme come to life! I included YouTube links to the rhymes that have videos so you can hear the rhythm of how to say it.
Enjoy!
