Hi Friends!
Today I’m sharing a collection of tips and tricks that you can do for your little ones birthday that won’t cost a ton of cash! With COVID putting gatherings on hold, many are turning to small, family home party’s to celebrate a new year for their child. Isaiah’s first birthday was a small home party and for his second birthday we had a small family celebration at Chick Fil A. Ezekiel’s first birthday is in two weeks and I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to save and have a great time celebrating your child! Most of these ideas are covid/ social distance friendly- I hope you enjoy!
Build- A- Bear Birthday Bear (Pay Your Child’s Age): We’ve done this for Isaiah’s first birthday and it was so much fun. Take your child to Build-A- Bear during their birthday month to get a special bear where you pay their age! Just mention it’s your child’s birthday and their wonderful staff handles the rest! Isaiah had a blast and I’m sure Ezekiel will too. Visit the Build- A- Bear website for details!
FREE Chick Fil A Dream Cone: Last year while visiting Chick-Fil-A we mentioned to the staff it was our sons birthday and they gave him a free ice dream cone! Each Chick Fil A is different but I heard most give either a free cookie or ice cream to kids on their birthday.
Kids Eat Free Dining Options: Speaking of free food there are lots of local restaurant birthday clubs you can have your child join to eat free! Burger King, Denny’s and Old Spaghetti Factory are just a few that love to shower the kiddos with something free to eat. There are also regular kids eat free deals from places like IHOP that serve free food on a special day of the week. Definitely go check them out for a birthday meal!

Birthday Party At The Park: Take your celebrations outside with celebrating at the park! You can have a picnic, play field games and even bring some water toys or a bubble machine. Grab simple decorations from the dollar store to make it a bit more festive like table cloths and balloons.
Disney Store Shopping Spree: Masks are required but you can still take your little to the Disney Store to pick out a few special toys! Getting to Disneyland may take a bit longer during the pandemic but the in person store experience can be just like visiting the park and can definitely make their day feel special. Disney store is a place where all ages can have fun and are currently having CRAZY sales!
Have A Birthday Photoshoot! Have a phone? You can DIY your own birthday or cake smash Photoshoot at home! Photo props can be ones found around your home and you can even bake the cake yourself! I’ve done my fair share of home shoots with my iPhone and Lightroom editing presets and couldn‘t have been happier! JC Penny Portrait studio is my favorite professional photographer to take my family because they almost always have a special deal going on especially around the holiday seasons! Snap a few photos and make a fun memory book together or use a service like Shutterfly to print placemats, magnets or canvas‘s- this company also always have promos and deals happening frequently!
Drive Through Treat From Starbucks: What kid doesn’t love a cake pop?! You can register your kiddo via the Starbucks app and on their birthday they can get a free drink! I recommend a smoothie or vanilla bean frap and throw in a cake pop on the side. The best part is that you can pick up your goodies from the drive through. I also saw you can do this with the Krispy Kreme App and get a free donut and coffee for you!
