Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with your families; we definitely did! Today I’m sharing our learning goals for both of the boys. This year holds so much promise for progress and I have never felt more chill about it. I like having goals in place for focus but I do not want to become uptight or stressed during this year about every little thing my boys are or are not doing. We have some BIG things coming up for our family in 2021 and I don’t want to overwhelm myself or feel like I have to become a mom who has to do all the things. If we can, we will and if not no big deal! Below are the goals I have written down for each of my boys. Isaiah is three and Autistic and his goals look a lot similar to my current sixteen month old Ezekiel. Developmentally Zeke and Zay are pretty close due to Isaiah having a developmental delay of about 12 months. Zay has more words but they are both learning the same things in the social/ emotional category.
Isaiah:
Able To Say Name and Age
Tracing
Learn How To Play Games: Get The Concept Of “My Turn” “Your Turn”
Improved Pretend Play
Saying simple sentences.
Learn How Put On Shoes
Improve Fine Motor Skills
Using Eating Utensils Consistently
Ezekiel
200 Word Vocabulary By Two (Word Combos)
Improved Non Verbal Communication And Gestures
Says NO!
Art Projects/ Pre Coloring
Imaginative Play!
Uses A Open Cup, Spoon and Fork
Understands and Says “Mine”
Name & Point To Body Parts
There are a few we are working on and getting better at already. Can’t wait to see where the boys are at and what areas of growth they’ll see in the upcoming year. I try to plan activities to go along with what they need to be working on and it makes it easier that they can be improving skills and having fun at the same time. What are some goals you have for your kiddos? Let me know one of them down below so we can encourage one another in the upcoming year!
