Hi Friends!
Here‘s our week 1 recap of homeschool! This week we did some Apple activities as part of The Chirping Moms at home learning themes. Zeke who is 12 months did about 60min of school and Zay who is my 2.5 year old did around a hour and a half. I’m hoping to get him closer to two hours over the next few weeks!

Zeke and I started school with morning songs/rhymes. After songs, we then worked on blocks. I thought it would be more challenging for him but he is getting really good at stacking some big towers like his big bro! Our theme this week is “Apples” and we listened to the story “Apple Troubles” on YouTube. I‘m outsourcing story time during our learning days to prep for the next activity so the homeschool day can stay within a certain time frame. Zeke enjoyed the story and pointed to the Apple and the squirrel! I love YouTube storytimes and they have been so helpful in exposing the boys to new literature and are such a time saver since library visits aren’t able to be done right now.
We had snack and then did a quick cycle of flashcards with farm animals on them! After, Zeke finger painted his first picture and only tried to eat the paint once haha. I didn’t have a super fancy Apple paint page, I just drew one really quick on some paper and he had fun with it! We talked about how some apples are red!

Our last activity was his sensory bin that took me just a few minutes to throw together! This Apple sensory bin has oatmeal, cinnamon, apples a bowl and spoon. He had a blast and smelled so good!

Isaiah started school once Zeke went down for his morning nap. We kicked off the day with circle time on YouTube that reviewed his colors, numbers, days of the week and weather. This was more of a kindergarten circle time and I used training from his ABA therapy to encourage him to stay seated for the twenty minute video. We are using Monica Sutton circle time videos along with Songs For Littles they are both great!

We did a ripped red paper and paste craft that helped with his fine motor skills and listed to two stories on YouTube. The Chirping moms suggested the book “The Apple Pie Tree” and that one was so cute! We also listened to “The Biggest Apple Ever” story that was a good listen too! Zay and I did flashcards, speech therapy practice, handwriting and puzzles but the picture below pretty much sums up his mood for majority of the day haha! We focused on the letter A and anytime I saw a “A” I would point it out to show, he also traced and erased the letter “A” as part of his handwriting practice. I’m glad he pushed himself to finish and we ended with abc mouse. Looking forward to next week where we’re learning about Oceans!
