Exploring Bones With Young Children! Homeschool Week 4 With Two Toddlers

Hi Friends! Today I’m recapping our last homeschool day where the boys and I explored a little more about bones! During this fall season I try to find creative non scary options to get the boys involved in and one of my favorite topics to explore is bones! If you are looking for alternatives to traditional fall learning themes as well I wrote a post all about it a few weeks ago!

My kiddos are one and (almost) three so we couldn’t go as in depth as we will be in the future but the introduction to learning about bones was a success! This was a very casual learning day but any exposure to something new is always a win in my book. We started off with music and movement time with a few musical selections from songs for littles apple video and then finished it up with the “Them Bones” from the Kidboomers where we wiggled our bones together! We also did “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” together- the boys really enjoyed that one!

We finished off with a craft time were we made bone handprints. I had painted each of the boys hands white and stamped it onto black paper. I then took some glue and had Isaiah help me place q-tips to represent the bones in our hands, it looked so cool! If you don't have white paint you can trace your kiddos hand with a white crayon and color it in before gluing down your q-tips; either way works!
