Hi Friends!
I hope you all are having a fun and safe holiday season! Today I am sharing three activities you can do with your kiddos that can help use up those boxes that are stacking up from deliveries- I know I am not the only one who has a bunch of them piling up!
Box Painting: My boys and I did this activity yesterday where I opened up a box and poured paint all over it. I gave them brushes and had them go for it! Isaiah stuck with his paint brush and Ezekiel switched halfway through from the brush to his hands. It was lots of fun! For most of us it's to cold to go outside so make sure to lay a few old towels down to save your floors from a mess. You could bring toys into your painting such as animal figures to make "tracks" with the paint or even sponges or toilet paper rolls to practice stamping and making different shapes. I love how open ended this activity is and it can be anything you kids want it to be. This is awesome for kids 12 months and up.
Car Road/ Racetrack: If you have a vehicle loving kid like I do, open up a box and draw a simple road or racetrack on it with a black marker. Let them pick their favorite cars and enjoy the play! You can have a race and if you really want to get into it, use the stopwatch on your phone and time how fast they can move their car. For the ones who love a good challenge they'll want to try beat their time and go faster again and again.
Tea Party: Turn a box into a tea party table by taping the opening shut, flipping it over and throwing a sheet over it. Grab cups and a pretend teapot (I've used a water pitcher before in the past in place of a tea pot if you don't have one) and serve up some tea! You can add in stuffed animals as tea party guests and use sweet iced tea in place of hot tea for younger kiddos. This set up can be flexible where you can turn it into a birthday party, ice cream counter or even a picnic! So many options to choose from!
